Zoom in on different exhibits.
Jamming Room and Bioacoustics Laboratory. The bioacoustics laboratory houses four exhibits that encourage visitors to experiment with sound and voices.
Bird Voice / Human Voice. These air-driven working models of a bird’s syrinx (on the left) and a human larynx are complemented by videos showing the placement of the organs in the body and slowed-down videos of the organs in action.
Electronic Voice. Visitors use an electrolarynx to speak without using their vocal chords. To see how vowel sounds are created, they can place the electrolarynx against four transparent models of a human throat.
